Initially specialising in terminal tackle, ESP made an immediate impact with products like the T-6 and G-4 hook patterns. These were the first carp hooks with ultra-fine needle points, vastly sharper than anything on the market at the time. Designed alongside Terry Hearn, they gave anglers a vital edge when targeting wary, rig-shy carp. The famous Stiff Rigger hook pattern soon followed, crafted for Terry’s hinged stiff rig which later evolved into the now-iconic chod rig, both of which are still as deadly as day one. 

The innovation continued in 2001 when just two years after the business was born they launched the Big-T hook pattern, the first mainstream carp hook with a super-slick PTFE coating, setting a new benchmark for the industry. Since then, the brand has expanded far beyond hooks. Today, ESP Fishing Tackle includes high-spec rods, stylish and durable luggage, premium clothing, ready-tied rigs, and leaders all designed and produced to the highest standards.
